Piedmont Advantage Credit Union Grand Opening
Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, a 44,800-member nonprofit financial institution with about $281 million in assets, formally opened the new headquarters building designed by Merriman Schmitt Architects and constructed by Shelco, LLC in Winston-Salem.
The new 39,120 SF flagship office in Piedmont Advantage Office Park at the corner of Burke Mill and Stratford Roads includes corporate functions, member services and branch operations. It was designed, like many modern bank branches, to eliminate teller lines and make more use of touch pads and tablets to service customers. The new office building is the first building completed in the office park.
“It’s just going to be a very relaxed, casual place for our members to come hang out,” CEO Judy Tharp said when construction was getting underway last year. “We are owned by our members, and we are very, very cognizant of that.”
Tharp was joined by Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines and other local officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
